Privacy Policy
Your data should not feel mysterious.
This explains what Timeline stores, what gets sent to AI, who receives it, and what we do not do with your information.
Last updated: May 21, 2026
What Timeline collects
- Your profile info: birthday, name if you add it, relationship status, focus areas, onboarding answers, and card profile generated from your birthday.
- Saved people: names, birthdays, relationship type, and notes you choose to add.
- App memory and app interactions: patterns you reveal through chat, saved people, dates checked, repeated topics, and the features you use inside Timeline.
- Chat content: messages you send to Ask so the AI can respond.
- Purchase status: subscription status from Apple StoreKit. We do not see your payment card.
Where data lives
Most profile and saved-person data is stored locally on your device. Timeline asks for your permission before sending personal data to AI features. If you do not agree, AI answers are not generated.
AI processing
Timeline uses AI to explain your card data in plain language. When you use Ask or another AI reading, the request may include your question, recent chat history, profile name, birthday, card facts, selected dates, saved people, saved people birthdays, relationship labels, notes, relationship context, health or body context you choose to type, and app memory so the answer can be personal instead of generic.
AI requests are sent to Timeline's Vercel-hosted proxy operated by Pause Botanica Inc., then to OpenRouter, Inc., which routes the request to Google LLC's Gemini models. The current primary model is Google Gemini 2.5 Pro, with Google Gemini 2.5 Flash used as fallback when needed.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not track you across apps or websites for advertising.
- We do not use IDFA or third-party ad SDKs.
- We do not intentionally use your chats to train AI models.
Third-party services
- Apple StoreKit: handles subscriptions and purchase restoration.
- Vercel: hosts the AI proxy and support/legal pages for Pause Botanica Inc.
- OpenRouter, Inc.: routes AI requests to supported model providers.
- Google LLC Gemini: generates AI responses for chat and deep reads.
Third-party protection
We choose service providers that publish privacy and security commitments for handling customer data. We use these services only to operate Timeline features, not for advertising or cross-app tracking. If the AI provider changes, we will update this policy and the in-app AI notice.
Deleting data
You can delete saved people inside the app. You can revoke AI permission in Settings by turning off AI readings. Deleting the app removes locally stored app data from that device. For privacy requests, email danielle@pausebotanica.com.
Children
Timeline is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
